Accessibility statement

On this page

Oblò wants the shop to be usable by everyone, in line with the European Accessibility Act (Italian Legislative Decree 82/2022). Our target is WCAG 2.1 level AA (standard EN 301 549). Today the site is partially conformant: the tests described below found the limitations listed further down, and the assessment is not yet complete.

What works

  • The “Skip to content” link at the start of every page moves focus to the content, below the header.
  • The department menu works with the keyboard: each department has a button that opens its panel; the menu does not open on focus alone, closes with the Esc key (focus goes back to the button) and closes when focus leaves it.
  • Dialogs and drawers (energy label, photo zoom, legal guarantee notice, cart, menu and filters on phones, cookie preferences): focus moves into the dialog and stays there, the rest of the page is inactive, the Esc key closes it and focus returns to the button that opened it. The thumbnails in the photo zoom are named (“Photo 2 of 7”).
  • The cookie banner is the first thing you reach with the Tab key after “Skip to content” and does not cover the focused element; after your choice, focus moves to the page content.
  • The sticky header and the bars at the bottom (buy, compare) do not cover the focused element, whether you move forward or back with the Tab key.
  • Focus is visible on option buttons that are already selected (payment, extended warranty), on the delivery time slots and on every gallery photo, on desktop and on phones; closed filter groups and the hidden arrows of carousels do not receive focus.
  • Page changes (focus moves to the content), the number of products after filtering, search suggestions and no results, the comparison notice, cart quantity and total, and the discount code error (linked to its field) are passed to screen readers through live regions.
  • In the search, suggestions can be browsed with the arrow keys and the selected one is exposed to screen readers; the panel closes when focus leaves the search.
  • At checkout, required fields are marked with an asterisk, explained at the top of the form, and exposed to screen readers; formats (for example MM/YY) are written under the field and address and payment details can be autofilled.
  • Text, including secondary text and example text in fields, has a contrast of at least 4.5:1.
  • With reduced motion turned on in the system, panels and drawers open without animation and the home page image carousel does not start; otherwise a button pauses it.
  • Every page has a single main heading and section headings follow a logical order; the page language is declared (Italian or English).
  • Product photos have alternative text; for screen readers the price is a single phrase and the crossed-out price is explained (lowest price in the 30 days before the discount); the buttons on product cards in lists say which product they refer to.
  • Pages can be read at a width of 320 px, that is at 400% zoom, without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

  • Some manufacturers’ PDF documents (manuals, sheets) may not be fully accessible.
  • Some feature illustrations on product pages, supplied by the manufacturers, contain writing that the text next to them may not repeat in full.

If a limitation stops you from buying, call us on 02 0000 0000 (Mon–Sat 9am–7pm): we complete the order with you on the phone. On request we provide document content in an alternative format.

How we assessed the site

Self-assessment of 21/09/2026: keyboard navigation tests in Chrome on desktop (1440 px) and phone (390 px), accessibility tree checks, automated checks with axe-core (WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules) on 15 pages in Italian and English (home, listings, search, product page, cart, checkout, services, guides, help, legal pages, comparison, page not found), contrast measurements, and tests with reduced motion turned on and at a width of 320 px. We have not yet tested the site with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) or with people with disabilities: we will, and will update this page.
